"GO WAIKATO"

Incredible!!  That's all I can say about you lot, incredible.  I got the full set of results for the North Islands last night and the performance of the Waikato HP squad was brilliant.  As a group you were one of, if not THE, dominant forces at the tournament.  I have put the highlights from the male results first and finished off the female results after that.  Some highlights below;

It was a dominant performance by Waikato women players at the tournament, with Sarah and Michelle being joined by Jessica in the semi-finals of the singles and Sarah, Michelle, Jessica and Armindeep making up the women's doubles finalists. 

A special congratulations to Sarah and Michelle for their achievements, although you won't be there to appreciate it, there will be a round of applause for you both at training on Thursday as we acknowledge your efforts.

Our men have also performed well as detailed below.

Eric Lin - Quarter-finalist open mens singles and mens B singles, winner of mens B doubles (with Matt)

Aaron Page - Winner of mens B singles, runner-up boys U18 singles, runner-up men's U21 doubles (with Mark), runner-up boys U18 doubles (with Abel Mok).

James Harter - last 16 open mens singles, runner-up mens B grade singles, winner U21 mens doubles (with Matt), semi-finalist B grade mens doubles (with Simon).

Matt Hetherington - winner U21 mens doubles (with James), winner B mens doubles (with Eric), runner-up open mixed doubles (with Jessica), quarter-finalist in mens B singles and U21 singles.

Myles Collins - last 16 mens singles, quarter-finalist mens U21 singles, semi-finalist U21 mens doubles (with Mitchell Barker)

Simon Hoey-Burns - semi-finalist B grade mens singles, semi-finalist open mixed doubles (with Armindeep), semi-finalist of mens B doubles (with James).

Mark Page - quarter-finalists B grade mens singles, last 32 mens singles (made the main draw), runner-up U21 mens doubles (with Aaron), winner of mens C grade doubles (with Andrew Palmer).

Jessica MacAskill - runner-up B grade women's singles, winner womens B grade doubles (with Armindeep), winner U21 womens doubles (with Natalie Paterson), runner-up U21 mixed doubles (with Matt)

Armindeep Singh - semi-finalist B grade women's singles, winner womens B doubles (with Jessica), semi-finalist open mixed doubles (with Simon).

This is a great base from which we can build a very successful remainder of 2010 and beyond.  Awesome.
