2010 Waikato Veterans Tournament

What a great weekend of table tennis, this year we had players from far and wide such as; Manawatu, Bay Of Plenty, North Harbour, Auckland, Waitemata, Northland, Corormandel, along with a number of Waikato local players.

Saturdays teams event was strongly contested with Auckland taking out both the Over 40's Men's and Women's titles. While our Waikato Over 50 Men, John Ho and Jia Zhang dominated the Over 50's and cruised their way to the gold medal.

Chris Little Deserves the title of Queen of the Table

Chris Little was the Queen of the Table over the weekend, she was apart of the Auckland Over 40 women's team who won the teams gold medal. She then followed up on Sunday winning the Over 40's and Over 50's Singles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Not bad for a lady who played all day Saturday with a hangover. Seven gold medals has to be a tournament record.

Michael Wolloner "King of the Table"

With Chris claiming the Queen of the Table title Michael had to claim the King of the Table with his hard fought battle in taking out the Over 40 Men's singles title. Against the odds he performed above himself in the semi final against Auckland's John Moon. He then claimed the title out of the grip of his team mate and long time rival Eberhard Kleiser.
